Acladocricus sp. · Spirostreptida · Philippines
A visually stunning giant from the Philippines with iridescent blue-black coloration. Very little captive husbandry data exists — this is genuinely an understudied species in the hobby. High humidity, warm temperatures, and deep rich substrate are the assumed baseline. Approach with caution and document everything.

Research notes
Flake soil base with rich rotting hardwood and tropical leaf litter. Very high organic content — this species likely requires a particularly nutritious substrate. Depth should significantly exceed body length given their large size. Avoid coconut coir, pine, cedar, and fruit tree wood.
76–84 °F. Warmer range than most. Consistent humidity is critical.
80–90% RH. One of the higher humidity requirements in the hobby. Mist frequently.
Rotten hardwood and leaf litter first. Supplement with squash, cucumber, carrot. Avoid dry foods.
Large, well-ventilated but humidity-retaining setup. Bioactive substrate recommended.
Benzoquinone secretions. Large body means larger dose. Handle minimally and carefully.
Captive husbandry is essentially undocumented. Keep detailed records and share observations with the community.
